Navigating your Treatment

You can play a big role in deriving the most benefit from your treatment.

  • Please make sure you understand any instructions, and follow them.
  • If something unexpected happens, please call right away. We almost always have an effective strategy to deal with whatever arises.
  • Keep us informed about problems such as nausea or pain, and don’t try to "tough it out." We feel strongly that no one should live with pain, and we have a lot of ways to help.
  • Feel free to bring your spouse, partner, or other person close to you when you have an appointment.
  • Let us know if you would like to join a support group or talk to a social worker.

And a word of advice about … helpful advice. As you discuss your condition with friends, you may find they know someone who had the same thing, or something close to it. They may have a lot of well-intentioned suggestions about new remedies or helpful dietary supplements. You may find information yourself on the internet or in magazines.

Please feel free to ask us about any of these ideas. Some treatments are helpful, many are not. Dr. Price keeps abreast of the scientific information, and is happy to discuss all the options with you.

Everyone approaches illness differently. Our job is to help you through this stressful time in a way that is most comfortable for you.
